At Equativ, our People & Culture team in the Americas is focused on the full employee experience. From hiring and onboarding to development, engagement, and everything in between, we’re here to support both our teams and leaders so everyone can do their best work.

Supporting the People Who Power Equativ

At the end of the day, our role is simple. We make sure the business can succeed through its people. That means bringing in great talent, helping leaders navigate change and growth, and creating an environment where teams feel supported and set up to perform. When that foundation is strong, everything else moves faster and more smoothly.

Building Better Leaders

One of the projects I’m most proud of is our leadership development program. We launched it last year and are continuing to expand it across the organization. It’s built around our leadership competency model, which defines the five core competencies we expect from our leaders, and it connects to a clear manager career path.

The goal is to give managers practical tools they can actually use, while also creating more consistency in how leadership shows up across the company. It’s been exciting to see how it’s already helping leaders grow and support their teams in more intentional ways.

What We’re Exploring

Surprise, surprise! Like many teams, we’re looking closely at how AI can support the work we do across talent, hiring, and People and Culture. For us, it’s not about replacing the human side of our work, but about giving us more time to focus on it.

We’re exploring how AI can help analyze engagement data, improve the way we build resources for managers, support smarter hiring decisions, and simplify some of the more administrative tasks. If we get this right, it allows us to spend more time partnering with the business and supporting our people in meaningful ways.

What Defines Our Team

I would describe our team as caring, thoughtful, and energetic. We care deeply about people and the experience they have at Equativ, and that shows up in everything we do.

One thing that often gets misunderstood about our work is that it’s seen as mostly administrative or reactive. In reality, it’s much more impactful. Whether it’s shaping hiring plans, supporting leaders, or building long-term programs, we are constantly thinking about how to strengthen the organization and help it grow.

We also spend a lot of time balancing different perspectives. We support the business, but we also advocate for employees and work to create an environment where people feel valued and heard. That balance is a big part of what makes the role meaningful.

We may not have one specific inside joke (that we can share), but food is definitely a shared love across the team. It’s often at the center of how we connect, whether we’re in the office or spending time together as a group.

We also make it a point to stay aligned and celebrate progress together. At the start of each week, we share our goals as a team, and every Friday we take time in Slack to highlight our wins and recognize each other. It’s a simple rhythm, but it keeps us connected, motivated, and supportive of one another.

Some of my favorite memories with the team come from time spent together outside of day-to-day work, like our offsite in Cancun. Those moments really reflect the kind of culture we’re building here at Equativ.
