At Equativ, our IT Infrastructure and Security team works behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. I like to describe our role as the invisible exoskeleton of the company, providing the automated muscle and protective armor that allow R&D teams to move faster and operate independently. Our mission is to ensure the platform runs continuously in a secure, optimal environment so the business can operate without interruption.

We continuously modernize the platform to improve cost efficiency, accelerate feature delivery, and give R&D teams greater autonomy. By ensuring stability and security while enabling faster innovation, we help create the technical foundation that supports the company’s long-term growth.

A Project That Made a Difference

It is always hard to select one single achievement for a team of more than twenty people, but one recent success that received strong feedback was the deployment of CloudProber. This tool modernizes how we monitor services across the platform. It has already helped uncover configuration issues that previously went unnoticed, allowing teams to fix them quickly and improve overall service availability. It is a great example of how small improvements can have a big operational impact.

Innovation in Progress

Right now, the team is focused on the opportunities created by our platform’s evolution toward cloud technologies. Learning and implementing new cloud capabilities opens exciting possibilities for how we build and operate our infrastructure.

AI is also a key area of experimentation. We are exploring how it can help accelerate the way we build the platform while ensuring we maintain strong security guardrails. The goal is to move faster without compromising safety or reliability.

I would describe the team as resilient, helpful, and highly skilled. They thrive in an environment that is constantly evolving and never truly stands still. Navigating that level of change requires strong collaboration, quick decision-making, and a lot of positive energy. I am incredibly proud of the people who turn these technical challenges into a very human adventure every day.

And despite what people may think, when something breaks, it is not always the network’s fault. Still, one of our favorite team sayings remains, “when in doubt, reboot,” or as we say in French, “dans le doute, reboote!”
